Tommy J. Lawson

Rochester: Passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the age of 73. His battle with serious health issues in recent years demonstrated his courage in facing life's challenges, and despite his challenges, he remained strong until the end.

Tommy, the youngest of four children, was born in Mt. Vernon, OH. After high school, he went on to The Ohio State University where he earned his bachelors degree. Tommy worked in many fields with great success but the one he enjoyed the most was driving his semi truck across NY State. He had a strong work ethic and taught his grandchildren simple but valuable lessons. "Any job, big or small, do it right or not at all" was a common saying around the house then and continues to be followed today.

Tommy retired in 2020, however due to his medical issues he was unable to enjoy his retirement to the fullest.

Tommy is survived by the love of his life, Catherine Lawson; children, Courtney-Anne (Michael Canipe) Lawson, Joseph Roy (Angela) Lawson, Caitlin Nanette Lawson, Kimberly (Edgar) Torres, William (Debbie) Jenny, Holly Jenny, Casey (Tamika) Pilon; 22 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Tommy's life story will be shared during visitation on Sunday, May 12 from 1-3 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane.
