Helen Chausonne Wallace Alletto

91, passed away on January 11, 2024, at the Harbor Chase Senior Living Center in Boynton Beach, Florida. Her daughter Mary Helen was by her bedside at the time of her passing and was a wonderful comfort to her in the last years of her life.

Helen was born on November 24, 1932, in Niagara Falls, NY, to Edward Thomas Wallace III and Helen Lillian Reilly. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Helen Garrity (Boynton Beach, FL) and Catherine Alletto (Denver, CO), and four sons, Edward Charles (Portland, OR), Michael Nicholas (Parker, CO), Philip Joseph (Tybee Island, GA), and Lawrence Bernard (Ocala, FL). Each of her children loved and adored her for her kind care and nurturing throughout her life. Helen was preceded in death by her former husband Michael P. Alletto and two sons, Peter Michael and Timothy Louis.

Helen graduated from Niagara University with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Nursing in 1954. She was well known for her compassion for others, which was evident in her choice to raise a large family and pursue her career as a nurse. Helen resided primarily in Greece, NY, where she raised her family and left a lasting impact on numerous lives as a loving friend and neighbor.

The service for Helen will be held on January 27, at Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home 1411 Vintage Ln. Visitation with the family 10:00 am to 11:00 am, memorial service to follow at 11:00 am.

Joe Brown was a beloved companion of Helen prior to his passing and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Helen's memory be made either to the Joseph E. Brown Fund of the Rochester Community Foundation (500 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14627) which supports hospice volunteers and caregivers, or to the Bethany House of Rochester (1111 Joseph Ave, Rochester, New York 14621) which is a Catholic organization that provides no cost temporary housing, assistance and support to women and children in Rochester, NY.

Helen will be deeply missed by her children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
