I’m so upset that Sophia has passed. We had lots of friendly conversations outside, as neighbors and friends. I am devastated and shocked that she is gone. I did not know she was sick. We had so many fun conversations about different things. I feel so sad that she will not get to see her children grow up And I feel sad that they will not have her in their lives. This is just tragic and heartbreaking. Being outside in the nice weather and chatting with her — Things will never be the same now in this neighborhood. She was beautiful and nice and kind and friendly. Sending love and blessings and peace to her family. Jayne Miller

Dear Sophia: I will be forever grateful for the times we spent together, especially this past year! I wish we had more time together, but God wanted you home with him first. I will miss you forever beautiful, but I know one day I will see you again!
Love your favorite cousin, Nadia W.

I also met Sophia at the Roc Ladies Meetup that I host with my mom in our home. I haven’t know Sophia long, but her joyful personality was contagious! She was so friendly, vulnerable, and always keeping it real while shining her faith at the same time. That can be hard to do! Her countenance was always shining and seemed like she really loved people well. I am so sad she is gone, but I know we will have eternity together.

Due to her post on the Nextdoor App, I met Sophia over a year ago. She inspired my daughter and I to start a women's group which we named the ROC Ladies Meet-up. This group has enabled many of us to make new friends.

Sophia came to several of our activities, and became a special friend. She was upbeat, and always eager to share her faith in Christ. She was open and honest about her struggles, which is a model for me. She always had praise to God, even in the midst of hard things. And she was a lot of fun!

When she received her cancer diagnosis, she told me that God had shown her it was for His glory. Her prayer was for everyone in her family and group of friends to come to know Jesus in a personal way, just as she did. I was privileged to visit her three times during her final weeks of life her on earth. She maintained her sweetness and love throughout suffering pain and weakness.

What a joy it has been for me to know her over this past year! Although I miss her, I have peace in knowing she is with our Lord and Savior. She was ready for eternity due to her commitment to Him. Someday I will join her in the Presence of God and we will meet again.

CandleSophia made you feel like you'd been friends forever the moment you first met. She had a way of being open and vulnerable and genuine and bubbly all at the same time! I met her at the ROC ladies group, which she was the initial inspiration for, and while i only spent time with her at a few of their meet-ups, I am sad to know she will not be at any more events. One time she saw me in the store and shouted out a happy hello from several aisles away before i even saw her. I am so sorry for your family's loss, but rest assured she is joyously worshipping her Lord and Savior in eternity! May God comfort all of you in this very difficult time.
