David and I have fond memories of working with Curt many, many years at the Town of Greece. Please accept our sincere condolences. It is so hard losing a parent; but now he is free of pain and with our Lord.

We are thankful that Curt's earthly departure means he is now with his Savior. He's getting to be with Char., Matthew, and many others who've already gone before us to heaven. We are grateful that his suffering, pain, and fight with cancer is over. Never again will he experience suffering, pain, or any of the other consequences of the original sin by Adam and Eve in the garden. He is better now than he has ever been, and will be that way for all of eternity. Praise God for our Savior!
Curt was a wonderful person. He was kind, gentle, quick-witted, generous, and a joy to be around. He was the consummate gentleman. He was brave, courageous, and had a tenacity of spirit that stood him well when Char. went to heaven last year and in his many battles against cancer. His smile was characteristic of his normal demeanor. He had an impish grin when he was pranking someone, something that he enjoyed doing often. His gift for planning and organizing was put to good use, not only during his career as the Greece Town Planner, but also at the churches he attended. His compassion, discerning mind, and genuine interest in the well-being of others were reflected in his life and in his service at church. Talks with him revealed a kind man who was able to make one feel at ease immediately. He was observant of the human interactions going on around him, and was quick to draw those who were not engaged in a social setting into the conversation. No matter the setting, he focused on others and made sure they had what they needed to be comfortable - a drink, comfortable seating, food, a listening ear . . . whatever was necessary, and was in his power to provide, he gave. He truly focused on others more than himself.
One of my favorite stories that Char. told about Curt was the one about what he said to her shortly after they were married. It was in the morning before she had a chance to put on her makeup for the day. After looking at her, he told her that makeup really did make a big difference in how she looked!
One of my favorite memories of him at our Sunday lunches together was when he blew into his straw when the wrapper was still on most of it, sending it flying across the table. That quickly led to a minor spit ball battle using our straws. His good nature and teasing ways earned him the nickname "Trouble" with our regular waitress. She called him Trouble whenever she addressed him. It was all in good jest and everyone enjoyed the spirit in which it was said.
He lived his life focused on helping others, whether in big or small ways. Not one to seek attention, or relish it when given, Curt was content to live a humble life of service to His Savior, his family, and those who had the privilege of meeting him.
He is missed greatly. We look forward to seeing him again in heaven. Then there will be no more "see you later" or goodbyes. We are praying for you as you grieve the temporary, yet painful, separation from your father/grandfather . . . . We love you and are praying for you!

My condolences to the Rossow family. I practiced law in Spencerport for 50 years & represented part of the Town of Greece in the County Legislature for 6 years in the '80's. Curt was unique as the only Town planner in Monroe County not affiliated with the County Planning Department. Only Greece had the foresight & ability to have a Town-oriented planner. Many of the attributes enjoyed by residents of Greece today are as a result of the work of Curt in his many years as Town Planner.
