Kay Lysbeth Husted Shillito
Age 85. Passed away on November 27, 2022. She is predeceased by her parents, Rex Bentley Husted and Lucile Baker Husted, and her grandmother, Pearle Owen Baker.
Kay graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University (Bachelor of Arts), and SUNY Brockport (Master of Arts). Her career was spent teaching elementary grades in Newark, NY; Okinawa, Japan; Frankfurt, Germany; Biglerville, PA; and Spencerport, NY. She enjoyed working with children very much.
Her hobbies included cooking, crafts and nature photography. Kay loved to travel and felt very fortunate to have opportunities to see much of the world. She especially enjoyed her books! Read yourself, read to children, and pass on that joy.
Kay is survived by her close friends who played an important role in her life. She highly valued spending time with them, and they will miss her dearly.
In remembrance of her feline friends, Charlie, Biggie, and Opie, please consider a donation to Lollypop Farm or to any cat rescue organization.
At Kay's request, there will be no calling hours. Interment will be at White Haven Memorial Park and will be private.
