I worked for Buzzy as a nurse in the medical outpatient department at Strong Memorial Hospital. She managed that entire clinic with boundless energy and very long work hours. She was extremely devoted to the nursing profession. She wanted nurses to continue advancing which is evident by her financial contribution to fund nurse scholarships at the University of Rochester. She is to be commended for her valuable contributions to nursing and for her work ethic that she showed to all. Rest in peace, my friend and colleague, Paula Cianca

Buzzy hired me as her assistant back in 1992 at the UR Medical Center. I considered her not only a wonderful supervisor but a mentor as well. We shared some good laughs and meals at her and Romanio's home. I am sure their reunion in heaven was one for the ages. Ciao, bella.....

Barbara will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Her passion for nursing and for helping others was a life-long endeavor. She held certain core values of professionalism, compassion, caring, and a commitment to excellence which will forever inspire Vallone Scholars at the University of Rochester School of Nursing to emulate her example. Those high standards and her work with patients, physicians and trainees is legendary.
In our sadness at her passing, we can rejoice that we had the pleasure and good fortune of knowing an outstanding caregiver, and a dear friend, Buzzy Vallone.
