Obituary

George S. Debay

GREECE - Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 1st, 2021. George was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy, his son, George (Amy), his daughter Katie (Ken), his son, Jim, his 7 beautiful granddaughters, Charlotte, Kamryn, Avery, Lia, Tessa, Georgia and Samantha, his brothers, John, Alex, Mike (Carol), his sister Bernadette; sister-in-law, Linda; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

George was a kind and selfless man. He worked hard throughout his entire life and devoted everything he had to his wife, Judy, his three children, George, Katie, and Jimmy, and his 7 wonderful granddaughters. He worked in the IT field for 45 years ending his career as a Senior Professional Database Administrator. Before he started his career, he served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. George loved baseball and was a passionate Yankee fan. He coached both of his sons from the time they were very young until their playing days were over. He continued to volunteer his time to coaching and eventually was the commissioner of American Legion baseball for Monroe county and then District Chairman. In addition to coaching baseball, he was also a competitive handball player and an avid ping pong player. He adored his daughter, Katie, and was at every one of her soccer games and gymnastics meets and supported her in every endeavor that she had. George had a positively unique sense of humor that timelessly resonated with those who knew him well. He was an honest and genuine man that epitomized integrity and the value of hard work. George was truly special and absolutely one of a kind. Forever in our hearts, George Debay.

As per NYS regulations all are required to wear a face mask and hand sanitize at the funeral home.
