History

Dick was born in Rochester and graduated from Madison High School. During his Madison days he was involved with the boxing program along with his twin brother William. He also worked as a Pin Setter at local bowling alleys. Dick and William started building fences together and eventually started American Wholesale in Rochester. They brought their sons into the business and even Dick`s daughters knew how to build fences. He was a very hard working man often using his truck lights so he could start early in the morning and work into the night. Dick had his welders certificate so that he could weld during the winter months. Dick`s love was his family. He loved all of the family gaterings that he had at his house, especially the Horseshoe Tournaments and family picnics. He enjoyed grilling at all of the outings. Dick had 4 children and would take care of them, often cooking dinner and doing bedtime routines as their mother usually worked the night shift. He loved his kids and grandkids. He just loved people in general. He liked to play poker, enjoyed watching football and he loved to party. His favorite hobbies were Fishing, Boating and Swimming and he loved nature the outdoors. Dick and his longtime companion Millie used to love cats, starting out with one and eventually housing a whole litter. He also enjoyed Country Music and Ray Charles. Dick was a true gentleman, loving and caring and even while he was in the hospital he thanked every nurse when they cared for him. He left many fond memories behind and his family will cherish them forever.
