She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Biagio Stango; son, Vincent (Shawna) Stango; daughters, Rosa (Antonio) Furino, Vincenzina (Giovanni) Siciliano, Filomena (Lorenzo) Dorini, Carmela (Duane) Sinatra; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Nicolina DiRubba of Italy.



History

Carmela grew up in Italy and came to the United States in 1958 with a husband and three small children. She worked as a seamstress for Hickey Freeman Co. She was a very religious person who prayed in her home daily for two hours and was in church every Sunday. She loved her family very much and was very proud of her grandchildren. She had her family over every Sunday for dinner and loved to cook meals for them. She enjoyed spending time with them on holidays. Carmela could always be found smiling. She had a great appreciation for life and made sure that the family was always at peace. She enjoyed traveling to Italy and LasVegas and liked to play bingo and cards, especially "31". She liked listening to Italian music and liked to play Soccer in the back yard at family gatherings. She was a sun worshiper who also enjoyed gardening, the water and the outdoors in general. Carmela was a warm, kind, concerned, happy and compassionate person and her smile will live on forever in her families hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Carmela's Memory.

BARTOLOMEO PEROTTO Funeral Home, Inc. 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.) where Carmela's visitation will be on Friday March 2, 2007 from 4-8 PM. All are invited to attend Carmela's Funeral Mass on Saturday at 9:30 AM at St. Theodore's Church (Spencerport Rd.) Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
