History

Lucy DiNitto was born on December 13th 1920 on St. Lucy`s Day. She lived on Julia St. until she married. She received her sacraments and her wedding vows at St. Lucy`s Church. She was married to Angelo Borrelli Sr. who predeceased her 7 years ago. Lucy and Angelo had 5 children (3 girls and 2 boys). She worked for a short time at Kodak and St Mary`s Hospital. Lucy loved to travel, especially in the past to Atlantic City and most recently to the Thousand Islands. Lucy enjoyed most of all going to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Lewiston. She enjoyed long drives, playing cards and games and had mastered the art of making sure she was always the winner, mainly for the fact that she made up her own rules, even if a game came with a set of instructions. She enjoyed going to Belles and Beau`s every other week until recently and her goal up to the end of her life was to get back to one more of those gatherings. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her life and she loved them all in her unique way of caring and giving of herself. She would boast about her family often and was very proud of each and every one of her children and grandchildren and most proud of great grandchildren. She easily made friends at the Friendly Home and would always stop to say hello to the residents and staff. Her family will miss her....her phone calls and multiple messages that she would leave on your answering machine, Sunday dinners surrounded by family and friends, Tuesday night pasta night (although no one could ever figure out she enjoyed homemade pasta). She said one of her favorite meals was white hots and she loved Abbott`s Chocolate Custard. Her death is a beginning of a new life for her to be rejoined with those that had died before her and to be reunited in spirit with her husband Angelo whom she so desperately grieved for.
