Survived by his wife Judy (Holt) Miller; children, Jeanine (John) Dockstader, Jack (Becky) Miller, Jeffrey Miller, Jamie Miller, Jill (Jim) Kinsella Joe Miller; 8 Grandchildren; sister Dr. Mary (Jan) Yutzy; mother-in-law Dorothy Holt; several nieces nephews.



History

John was passionate about his family and his personal connection with God. John always looked forward to spending time with family. He and Judy started many family traditions. The dinner hour for John`s family was looked forward to daily, and they also enjoyed singing around the campfire. John enjoyed spending family vacations at Cape Cod and at their summer home in Honeoye. John Judy always found time for each other. They would spend time every year on a brief vacation together. A few of the longer vacations included trips to England, Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Florida and their kids` homes out of town. John`s faith was very important to him, he was very active with many different committees at Holy Name of Jesus Church. Over the years John was involved in Marriage Encounter, Cursillo, PreCana, Parish Council and School of Religion. John especially enjoyed singing in the choir. He also enjoyed sailing, playing Bridge, mowing the lawn on his tractor at Honeoye, nature, skiing and tennis when he was younger. He could best be described as a compassionate and generous man. John instilled in his family many fine attributes especially faith, honesty, integrity and trust.

Services

BARTOLOMEO PEROTTO Funeral Home, Inc. 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.) where John's visitation will be Friday, December 16th, 2-4 7-8:30 PM. John's Life Remembered Service will begin Friday 8:30 PM at the Funeral Home. John's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 17th, 11 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will be private.



Additional Information

John died after a long battle with heart and bone marrow disease. John was blessed to have died at Journey Home surrounded by his loving family and friends. John achieved his major goal in life - a loving and supportive family. He retired from Eastman Kodak Co. in 1992 after 32 years of service as a Project Engineer. John used his Engineering talents in building a cabin in Honeoye, designing the summer home, participating on a committee for building the parish center, and managing the move for Journey Home.
