Survived by

Survived by his loving wife of 49 years Patricia Blash Reininger; children Rick (Nancy) Reininger, Terry (Greg) Spicer, Mark (Ann) Reininger, Nancy (Joe) Pallatto, Carol (Jaime) Albarran; 19 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and dear friends.



History

Richard enjoyed having a large family, he was very proud of his 5 children and 19 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Richard could best be described as strong and proud. He enjoyed many outdoor activities. He especially enjoyed spending time around water. The outdoor pursuits that Richard enjoyed include: camping, sailing, gardening swimming. Richard was a "big kid at heart", this was evident in his favorite holiday of the year Halloween, a close second to Halloween was his love of Christmas. He always looked forward to dressing up as Santa for the children. Richard enjoyed music, especially opera and classical tunes. Richard also enjoyed: trains, pets, fish, dogs, acting, traveling, watching the LPGA, card playing and dancing. Richard was very proud of his German Heritage and he shared this with his family. Birthdays were also special times for Richard, he never forgot to send a birthday card to all of his immediate and his extended family.



Donations

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Greece Volunteer Ambulance, 867 Long Pond Rd., Rochester, NY 14612 in Richard's memory.



Services

BARTOLOMEO PEROTTO Funeral Home, Inc., 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond rd.) where Richard's visitation will be Thursday, November 3rd, 2-4 7-9. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 4th, 9 AM at St. Mark's Church, 54 Kuhn Rd. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.



Additional Information

Richard worked as a City of Rochester School District Special Education Teacher. He would always find great joy in decorating his classroom no matter how insignificant the holiday.
