Obituary

ROCHESTER - Passed away peacefully on October 14, 2021, at age 89. Predeceased by her son Harry S. Rapp; former husband Harry Rapp; parents Walter & Ann Stevens; sister Norma Langworthy. Carolyn is survived by her daughters; Cynthia (Raymond) Bahr & Sandra Rapp; grandchildren; Samantha Bahr, Nathan Bahr; nieces and nephews. Carolyn was a retiree of Monroe County.

Carolyn's funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 6th, 11:00 AM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, Rochester, NY, 14626. Private interment.

Carolyn was born in Rochester and spent over 55 years in Charlotte. She was a dog lover, had a passion for gardening and politics, and was very active in her community, serving on multiple boards, and donating countless hours to nonprofit organizations. She also had two grandchildren who were her pride and joy and could be found spending time with their Nana at the beach and helping in her glorious garden.

Carol started her career at Eastman Kodak, where she met her husband, prior to becoming a stay-at-home wife and mother. Once her children became old enough, she returned to work full-time at Sibley's in their famous bakery. Yum! At the same time, Carol decided to attend college at SUNY Brockport, with the younger generation, where she received her bachelor's degree. She then went on to work for Monroe County for a number of years in a variety of positions.

In her free time, Carol devoted numerous hours to the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee. She could be found at the park every Wednesday evening during the concert season and at their other seasonal events. Carol always enjoyed the company of a cute pooch, adopting a number of strays and rescues throughout the years. She took great pride in her garden and loved to share her knowledge and plants with others. Politics was another one of her passions. She actively participated in Republican functions and dedicated many hours to supporting her party. She was always happy to discuss politics and the importance of voting.

Carolyn was always available to help others out and give back to her community. Her family will remember her kind heart, generosity, support, and the love she displayed for them.

The family thanks the staff on 4 North at Episcopal Church Home for becoming her second family in recent years.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to one of her tax deductible passions:
