Obituary

Ann C. Levesque

GREECE - Passed away August 29, 2024, at the age of 88. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Bill, infant son, Paul Joseph, parents, Alfred and Helen [Langlois], sisters Margaret Mary [Reilly] and Sr. Jeanette [Langlois] and brothers Clement and Edward. Ann is survived by her children; Susan (Russell) Pratt; David (Jeanette) Levesque; and Mark (Joyce) Levesque, and seven grandchildren; Caitlin (Derek); Kyle; Claire (Ryan); Alyssa (Reagan); Rhys; Michaela; Josh; and five great-grandchildren Melody, Emma, Kora, Arizona, and Luna, and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Portland, Maine, she attended school in South Portland and earned her Registered Nursing license through Mercy Hospital in Portland. She served on the Nursing and teaching staff until her marriage to Bill in June,1958. They lived in Massachusetts until Bill returned to school at the University of Maine in Orono, Maine. Following graduation, Bill joined Kodak, and the growing family moved to Rochester, New York. The family lived in Mexico City for two years due to a Kodak assignment and then returned to Rochester, NY in 1968.

Ann loved music and enjoyed playing the piano for her family and singing in the church choir for many years. She and Bill shared a passion for travel and enjoyed extensive trips throughout the USA and internationally.

Her life served as an impressive example of how to live a life of loving service to others. She demonstrated this through word and deed as a Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma. She was involved in her church, teaching religion class and singing in the choir. Ann contributed a substantial amount of her time and talent volunteering for Stephen Ministries, Meals on Wheels, Literacy programs, 30 years as a Patient's Advocate at Park Ridge (Unity) Hospital, American Red Cross and Heart Association fundraising drives and many other volunteer roles.

We will miss her deeply, but our lives will be more fulfilling due to the powerful example she set for us to follow and the wonderful memories she helped to create for us to reflect upon.

The family would like to thank the Wegman Cottages staff for their kindness and care. Bill and Ann entered the Cottages skilled nursing facility in 2020, literally days ahead of New York's Covid shutdown. Though they were isolated from family and friends due to Covid protocols, they were able to spend time together each day - which was a blessing.

Family and friends may call at Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane in Greece on Monday, September 9th from 4-7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held, Tuesday, September 10th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo, 3003 Dewey Avenue, Rochester.

Interment will follow the Mass at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Avenue, Rochester where she will join her husband Bill at the Christ Our Light Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
