Obituary

Isabelle M. Furia

Passed peacefully, April 1, 2023. Betty is predeceased by her husband Richard Furia. She is survived by her children, Richard (Lisa) Furia, Steven (Christine), & Kevin (Christine) Furia; grandchildren, Richard (Kara McConnell) Furia, Alexandra Furia, Kevin (Victoria Capp) Furia, Michaela Furia, & Michael Furia; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Margaret) Annechino; several nieces, nephews, cousins & dear friends.

"Betty" Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed shortly before her 90th birthday. Betty spent 53 great years with her beloved husband "Dick"' Betty and Dick were amazing parents to their three boys Rick, Steve, and Kevin. In addition to many active years raising their 3 sons they especially took pride in watching all three-play football at Aquinas. They were known for hosting great high school parties to which everyone was invited! Betty continued to attend Aquinas football games many years after, as she enjoyed them so much!

Betty and Dick had many exciting years of boating and enjoyed many happy years at their beautiful cottage on Lake Ontario. There were many family gatherings there, as many cousins had homes close by enjoying many years of cooking, eating, and laughter together!

Betty has been a 15-year resident at Fieldstone which she really enjoyed. She had an outstanding "team of friends" that kept her social life always busy! She loved her competitive Canasta "matches" with "the girls" and of course 4:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday at St Lawrence Church with her "group". That was always followed by a delicious dinner at the Blue Ridge restaurant. The shrimp dish is her favorite!

Betty was extremely social! A fashionista! Dressed amazingly with the latest styles. Betty loved to shop, cleaning out Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Macy's frequently, and creating a small retail store in her closets!
Betty was also an amazing entertainer! Her door was always open to all for many years! She would either prepare a delicious meal...or serve a buffet of delicious treats. "Coffee always on"!

Betty never visited anyone without bringing a variety of unique food choices with her! Betty was very generous in her giving to all family and friends during holidays, birthdays 'or "just because"
We will miss our Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, "Aunt Betty" and Friend. We were blessed to have you in our lives. We know you are in the comfort of our Savior Jesus Christ in heavenly glory and reunited with "Dad" and all other loved ones.

Betty's life story will be shared during her visitation Tuesday, April 4th, 2-6 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 & Long Rd.). Her funeral mass will be celebrated, Wednesday, April 5th, at 9:30 AM at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N. Greece Rd., followed by her burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Betty's memory.
