Andre J. Diamond was born on July 14,1969 in Rochester, New York to Lena and Terry Diamond. He was the youngest of three children.

Andre was born with special needs. He attended the School of the Holy Childhood, then the Arc of Monroe. In 2009 he began participating in a mentorship program at the ARC where he met Dave Thomas. Over the next seven years Dave helped in expanding his life skills and experiences.

In 2010, he began attending the Recreational and Day Programs at Lifetime Assistance Inc (LAI). Andre thrived at LAI developing deep relationships with staff and other participants. He especially loved Nurse Gail.

In 2016 Andre entered LAI's Group Home Program. He loved being on his own away from his sister's control. In 2018, Andre moved into Hollybrook Group Home in Brockport, where he found a loving second family. He remained there until he was hospitalized on 12/30/20. Visitation was limited but his '"Dad" Scott managed to see him often.

Andre was a character. Upon the death of their mother in 2009, his older sister, Ernestine (Ernie) became his legal guardian, which did not sit well with Andre. Ernie fondly recalls one day when Andre came home, threw his jacket on the floor, and declared, "I sick a you being boss a me!"

Andre loved everybody and everybody loved Andre. Andre received Christ as his Savior when he was young. Andre and his mother were founding members of New Progressive Cathedral COGIC. He loved his church family especially Patty and Coretta.
Andre loved to make people smile. He was funny, sassy, discerning, smart and could read people like a book to get what he wanted. Andre loved Burger King, Applebee's, bowling, singing, and dancing. He loved his Michael Jackson tee shirts.

He leaves to cherish his memories:

Otis Allen (Rosalind), Ernestine Hunt, and his nieces and nephews: Otis Allen Jr., Ashlie Allen, Taylor Allen, and Tylor Allen; Aunts and uncles, cousins, LAI family, church family members and friends.

Acknowledgements:

The family would like to thank all our extended family and friends for all their thoughts, acts of kindness, and prayers. A special thank you to Bishop James R. Wright Sr. and New Progressive Cathedral COGIC congregation; and Lifetime Assistance Inc. - the Hollybrook House
