I have so many memories of Uncle Eddie it's hard to pick one but I do remember one time when Michael was around 3 or 4 when grandpa and Uncle Eddie took us to the Shire Circus. We had front seats but I had and still have a terror of clowns. I do remember him and grandpa trying to reassure me that they were just regular people dressed up and in makeup. I still don't believe it! I have not seen him in a long while. The last time was in the hospital and it broke my heart.
How my mother loved her baby brother. But, she said the minute chores had to be done he was MIA. After reading his memoirs, I see that's probably true. He was a scamp! He was enduring, he was devastating handsome, and he was kind and loved animals.
I hope he is enjoying his reunion with family and friends in heaven. I know he made it! We will miss him.
